Albuquerque is bold like his father, but very sweet like his mother. He's friendly, laid back, mellow. He enjoys getting attention, and will sit on his back with his feet tucked to receive belly rubs. He gets along with all his cagemates, and has never been part of a conflict.
Overall Albuquerque has good type. He has good size with a very nice head. His tail is long, cylindrical, and tapers nicely. His eyes are big and bold, though his ears are a bit small, they are otherwise well-placed. His color is good with dark points.
Albuquerque descends from my outcross between one of my males and a female from Illinois. He is the second generation in this outcross. The goal for this outcross was to improve the health and type of my rats. In this generation I have seen an amazing improvement in the heads of my animals. I hope to fix this trait into the line, while working at improving other traits. At this time I am still gathering health information, but so far Albuquerque's grandmother and her sister are doing wonderful. They will turn 2 years old on February 11, 2010 and so far have had no health concerns, are holding good weight, and don't look a day over 1 year.
