Elli was a very calm, sweet, and loving girl. She enjoyed cuddling, and while she does explore, she prefers human company. She routinely gave me kisses during cuddle sessions.
Elli had good size and overall type, with good bone. Her head was long and flat, which tends to be fairly typical of dumbo. Her ears were ok, while round, they were tube-shaped. She had good eyes and a nice tail. Her color was nice.
Elli originally came out of the “everything else” side of my lines, in terms of color. I had decided to breed Elli to improve on type and maintain temperament. While her head was not great, it was an improvement over what I had seen previously in my litters, and I felt it was important to breed her to try to improve further. She was bred to Indie, who had a nice head, and produced some lovely babies who show a definite improvement in heads. In September 2009 Elli developed a tumor. I opted not to breed her female offspring, due to the possibility of this tumor being hereditary. She passed just before her second birthday.
