Background and Purpose: The primary purpose of this litter was to encourage good health and excellent temperaments. The relatives of the parents had been some of the most exceptionally affectionate people-rats I'd ever had the pleasure of knowing, and I wanted to continue that temperament. Up to this point their relatives had also been pretty healthy, with no tumors occurring and relatively few respiratory infections and sensitivities such as allergies. This litter was more closely line-bred with the intent of selecting for excellent temperament, low tumor incidence, and the low rate of respiratory allergies that part of the line had shown.
